I don't know. The turbo spews a ton of oil about 5 minutes after I cold start it, and I'm always in traffic when it happens, and it stops before I can get somewhere to pull off, so I'm not sure if it's leaking from there. It's leaking from somewhere, I just don't know where.
I emailed...
So, I was doing a little work under the hood of my car, checking my IC piping and such, and noticed this on my turbo:

It's a hole in the casting right by the oil feed. Is this a problem? Would this explain my...
yeah, look at your turbo. I know for garrett's (Tx, GTx), typically the feed in the top is a 1/8" NPT thread, while the drain is a standard garrett drain. (So you just get a standard garrett to NPT adaptor at Summit)
the 1JZ (and 2JZ) block use a 12x1.25mm threaded oil feed, and a standard...
I have a really nice HKS T3 manifold with a T4 flange welded over top of the T3 flange.
The manifold is not a restriction in my setup at all. It actually works pretty well.
Correct. There is a speedo cable that runs from the transmission up to the gauge cluster for the speedo. Then, there's an electronic pickup in the speedo which sends a signal back to the ECU. Without the speed signal, the ECU doesn't know when to shift gears.
IIRC the speedo cable is one...
I have my sensor tee'd into the oil feed for the turbo. On cold idle, I get about 60psi, dropping to 15psi when it warms up. When cruising, it's usually about 75psi when cold, and about 50-60psi warm. I've never had the pressure go past 75psi though, on either my 1JZ, or 2JZ bottom end. I...
d'oh. I missed the part that he's running ARPs. Yeah, the 90 degree part is designed to stretch the bolts a little bit to allow them to hold a little better. ARPs don't stretch. They just need a little more torque.
Still do it over though. You DON'T want to be re-torquing the bolts while the...
Ok, I speak from experience when I say this: Do it over again. The 90 degree is important.
I forgot to do that, and my flywheel came loose. It seriously takes you like 20 minutes to just do it over now.
