My shop cut mine down to 45mm.

    Idle speed issues...

When you turn off the car, do you hear a sound from the idle control valve a second later? I describe the sound as....'Ducka-ducka-duck". That's the valve resetting.

The 'No more F'n around' build

Looks like a good start to the build, and very similar to my parts list(except for valvetrain).

    r154 1st gear

My only other guess would be Marlin Crawler, since they rebuild those things constantly. Oh- PS: Aren't the GM AR-5 transmissions quite similar? Just a thought.

    bigger fuel line setup

If your FPR is weak, then less fuel will go to the injectors, and more will go back to the tank.

Coolant overflowing the bottle... no overheating... bad radiator cap?

All in all, it does sound like a bad radiator cap could cause this issue. Lets hope, at least.

Finally got it running and ot has a lifter tick

Although these cars dont have lifters, the TSRM does refer to the buckets as 'lifters'. Thats why i didnt bust your chops about it. And yes- exhaust leak can definitely sound like valvetrain noise. As for taking a grinder to the rotors...

Finally got it running and ot has a lifter tick

Um. I'd be more worried about the fuel pump power issues, than valvetrain noise. Check the fuel pump relay on the passenger fender well.

    88 7mgte resurrection

If the engine was cold and the power was disconnected for more than a minute, the ecu most likely did reset. It'll run better after the first few minutes of operation.

    Break up!

As for the lifetime filter... The part at the edges that you can see through is more or less clean. The rest of it (most of it) is caked with dirt. Not saying that this is your issue. Just saying that the "lifetime" thing is questionable.

    Break up!

Ohm your plug wires. Oops- edit: I see you went to DG500 setup, which would negate that possibility. Are the spark plug areas completely dry of water?

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Ha! Thanks for taking the time. I know this thread has stretched out quite a bit, so I appreciate it.

    morganson's COP S-Type setup

I'm pretty sure that the problem people have been having is spark breakup, which(to me) feels like losing a cylinder or two/ sputtering. Fuel cut is like driving over a parking block at 40mph.

HOW TO: Rebuild the MK3 Rear Differential.

Good stuff. I went with the same solid spacer and Wier maxgrip kit.

    Catch can hose collapsed

Collapsed under suction? That's a strong vac source. Never seen that happen.

Arctic Cat injectors in a supra?

After buying a couple of intake assemblies, then selling them off, I think I paid around $150, plus $20 for new filters, and $80 for flow testing.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Yes, I think so. Maybe that's what I'll try when these tires wear out.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Yeah, just a slight touch of stretch. And not because I love the look, just already had these tires. FR500 replica's, 235/40/18 front, 265/35/18 rear.
