Take the car that the motor came out of and find the weight. Then get the buddies e30 and weigh it. Calculate the power to weight ratios of both. See how much faster it is in the e30 than in the origional car. Or do it the easy way, tell your buddy to bring it to the track.

Check the EFI fuse. If you are not getting dash lights, it could be only the wiring between the fusebox, the starter and the ECU, or the ECU itself.
