1946 Chevy Fleetmaster 2-door, meet "Betty"...

Found a VVTI 2j with auto trans and all the necessary goodies for $2500 shipped on ebay the other night... hmm. MUST... FINISH... SUPRA... FIRST. It's kinda hard to ignore this thing, and I have a bad habit of getting distracted and moving on to something else. It's my biggest shortcoming when...

Post a pic of your recent purchase

Good man... If you twisted my arm and made me confess what I'd buy if I HAD to buy a NEW car, either this or the BRZ would be my only real choice. Corvettes are still way too expensive, and everything else built anymore is way too fat, save for the Miata. Which brings me to my next point... the...

Supra engines, are they even-firing or odd-firing?

I did a little more research on this last night, some rather interesting reading here: http://www.epi-eng.com/piston_engine_technology/torsional_excitation_from_piston_engines.htm Anyway, thanks for clearing that up guys. It would seem that odd firing engines are uncommon, and the even/odd...

    Lets talk Weight Reduction

I can almost guarantee I can drop 1000 lbs out of one of these cars. I like them too much as a street car to do it though, and with the lack of tracks near me, no real point to it for me either. Just saying, that with enough determination and time, a LOT of weight can be lost. I would recommend...

    Setsuko37's 87 na project

Looks like one of those silly drift kids learned about understeer the hard way. :p I'd say enjoy it for what it is, and when/if it finally kicks the bucket, scrap it and move on, that car has seen much better days. I don't even want to show you what I got for $1000 a few years back, you'd be...

Supra engines, are they even-firing or odd-firing?

Coworker and I had a discussion yesterday about how Supra engines fire. I was under the impression that cylinders fire in pairs, i.e. 1 and 6 fire at the same time, 2 and 5, 3 and 4... He says that while cylinder 1 is firing, cylinder 6 is exhausting. Is this how our engines are? I tried looking...

    What Grinds Your Gears?

I only do that when I'm driving around in my Ferrari, rocking out to mariachi music. The looks people have on their faces when they realize that the Pilsbury Doughboy is the one blasting the trumpets, ahh... priceless. :D

whos a fan of the Mosin Nagant?

Might already have a thread if you dig deep enough. I've held/aimed a Dragunov, but never a Mosin. The Dragunov was a pretty solid gun though, never have gotten around to shooting it though, I was always working nights when my buddy went out shooting it.

1946 Chevy Fleetmaster 2-door, meet "Betty"...

Man, that Random guy has a badass engine setup... would definitely bust my budget though. :D I've thought about the weight of the car, and frankly... I'm not so sure it's going to be quite as heavy as it looks like it would be. I initially expected 4500lbs+, but when I was tearing the front...

Sorry to hear about how people treat the M3... might keep a flyswatter around and smack the shit out of them when they do that. I get what you're saying about the Mk3 on the right day. It is why I'm going to miss having a targa, riding home with it off just makes all the stress of the day go...

It's likely they've been modified from the factory color, or... maybe Ford Racing made a part or two for our cars? :p

Stock Temp Gauge Jumping Around after 3k RPMs

I'd suspect the elusive electrical gremlin. Have someone watch your gauge when the car is warmed up. Wiggle the sender and wiring to it, and have them yell if anything changes. :)

    Lets talk Weight Reduction

Might be a good idea to point out that this is a track car. ;) -CF hood is good for ~30lb drop, and on the nose, which is a good thing -Front bumper (the bumper itself, not the cover), but don't ever crash... -Get rid of all unnecessary things: cruise control, heat, A/C, headlights (depending...

why can't people determine the difference between fact and opinion?

JJ, the internet has been very much a mixed blessing in this respect. Before the internet, if you wanted to know something about a car, you either had to learn the hard way (trial/error, or as an apprentice), until you got it right, or give up at some point. I'll admit my knowledge of cars is...

My 1977 7M-GTE CELICA! Finished! Test drive vid on page 18!

I'd be careful with a pressure plate with a rating that high. Good for torque, but not so good for anything else... I've heard all sorts of bad things happening to bottom ends due to a PP that high. I know you don't want to hear this, but if you're putting out that kind of power, I'd say it's...

Something about these cars, isn't there? I don't think I could be without a Supra, it would just feel so very wrong to me. Doesn't really matter WHICH Supra I have, just so long as I have at least one. Currently have a Mk2 and a Mk3, the old lady is saving up for a MkIV, I'll have fun with that...
