    CajunKenny's Build Thread

Ah, that makes more sense. That is quite a conundrum! Do you really like your current rims or are you finding others you like better? As for the gauges- what do you think about this? It's free space cause I'm sure you never use the ashtray anyways...

    CajunKenny's Build Thread

I'm kinda confused by the "What they've offered was to give me the four boogered up wheels for free and they guarantee that they will get the next set mounted without damaging them." Are they offering to reimburse you for the damaged rims? Or do you just get to keep them as-is? Personally I can...

What is a good aftermarket clutch to buy?

It's overkill for you, but I really like my SPEC stage 3+. It's a full-faced, sprung hub clutch that holds a whole lot of torque, but feels really nice. It is harder than stock and chatters a little bit, but it's totally worth it for me and way nicer than the multi-puck setups (personally). my...

    CajunKenny's Build Thread

I'm calling BS... I've mounted tires on all kinds of goofy rims- multi-piece, reverse mount, beadlock, etc. and never ran into a rim that dented unless I bashed it. I would avoid that place like the plague, Ken, they're out to kill your rims ;P . I thought they looked rather nice.

Win one and lose one, plus a WTF?

Hmm, most of the time when I see a leaking water pump it will get worse when the pump starts rotating. I guess it's possible for it to work the opposite way, but I've never seen that in person. BTW, there's a top and bottom vent hole on OEM pumps, not sure on aftermarket ones. Has your water...

Where To Get A New 7MGTE???

That engine will not like you for long. The GE block has higher compression, so you would need to be running very high octane to keep away knock even at stock boost. Turbo engines are low-comp for a reason, and that reason is knock. That is, unless you're keen to get a stand-alone, big...

Aftermarket radiators that work with hydro fan...

Even though I have no hydro fan, I also vote for the Koyo. It's a very well-made unit, just don't lean on it when hot...

1jz tach issue and breaking up/sputtering when at full OT (now with video)

My old 7M igniter got fairly hot after the car had run for a long time, but the DH61 I'm using now has built-in heatsinks so it stays cooler. Never touched a 1JZ one, though.

Article: GUIDE : Adjusting valve shims

I have used this formula at work as well as at home so I made up an excel spreadsheet to do the work for you- this can work for any engine, just plug in the desired clearances and your measurements! Click Here-->

    I'm the new girl here

Well, I think you'll have more fun making the mk3 your OWN rather than have someone else build THEIR dream car with YOUR money... That said- please look through as many builds as you can and find the one that you like the most. This place has got everything from stock engines to crazy V-12...

1jz tach issue and breaking up/sputtering when at full OT (now with video)

Well, if the ignitor doesn't get a trigger to fire from the ecu, it will drop the tach output until the trigger returns. I had a poor connection on my ignitor that lead to an intermittent tach output- I'd say check the wiring and connections to make sure there is no poor connections.

    CajunKenny's Build Thread

Well think of it this way- Before I bought it, my engine was overheated so badly the block and head were warped enough to be able to blow a composite HG near instantly. It needed .012 machined off of the block to clean up all the warpage and a new head was sourced. After that I had the mains...

very low oil pressure and boost spike

First: get a oil pressure tester and check to see what your oil pressure really is. If it never goes above 5-6psi, you have bigger problems to deal with! If it is normal, the gauge/wiring/sender circuit needs checking. Next- remove the boost controller from the turbo and run the hose from the...

Where To Get A New 7MGTE???

No need to check on the oil pump fitment- I will tell you right now- the mk4 (2JZ-GTE or GE) oil pump assembly will not work on a 7M, ever. The 7M has a remotely located oil pump that is driven by seperate shaft so it can be in the middle of the block. The JZ series has the oil pump as a part of...

Where To Get A New 7MGTE???

Ian was citing the fact you said you were going to install a MK4 *Oil Pump* into a 7M...this simply will never happen. Anyone who advised you to do this shouldn't be touching your car. My guess is that he wants to install a MK4 **Fuel Pump** so you don't run out of fuel flow and you had a typo...
