Today!
The wiring is OUT and boy, does it look a mess! The lower intake is off, the exhaust manifold is off and so is the head. Bolt #9 was a bastard to get out as well, necessitating a 10mm allen key, a 10mm deep reach socket, and 9" of extensions. FINALLY got them all out - although they're...
Today!
*FINALLY* managed to get the turbo off the manifold, the annoying bolts holding the oil feed on came off after much swearing and scraped knuckles and back twisting, although i have NO idea how i'm going to put it all back on.
Been re-conning the turbo today - the oil feed gasket was...
Looks easy enough for me, there's nothing there on that side (remember, stripping head). I did however remove all the oil and water feed pipes to the turbo, and just as well, because the gasket on the water feed was...not there. held in with FIPG. The oil feed side of things crumbled to dust in...
Thought you guys might be interested in this. Turbo technics supply virtually NO data on this CT26 hybrid - just saying 'it's good for 380hp (crank)'.
Therefore, in my estimation, it's a 54 trim or thereabouts?
Have a look at the pictures below, judge for yourself:
Has 14 fins, 7...
Got it off with a long reach 12mm socket and a 6" extension, with the turbo actuator bolts removed to give me some more room - putting it back on might be...er...'fun' :P
Just checked the CPS i have - airgaps are 0.2mm (pretty tight) and resistance on the coil varies no more than 4ohms from each other, all within spec from 159.7 to 163.1 ohms - going spare if you need it.
IMHO - the resistance is too high - if i were you, i'd definitely get hold of another CPS. My CPS is currently reading bang on 160 Ohm on both coils. There *was*, i believe, TWO specs for the CPS, but jetjock would know more about that.
I have a CPS here that i was going to keep as a spare...
Hai, this is Kai's alter-ego, yes, the goatee wearing motherfucker from the mirror universe. Unlike most alter-ego's, i'm the happy one, and for the moment, i've kicked captain grumpypants out. So, why not stop in and say hi? :)

There - took all of 10 seconds searching. Read it thoroughly and come back if you have any questions.
Yeah i can see them from underneath, but i don't have a long enough extension, or a UJ that's stiff enough. With the 3" and 6" extension, the UJ and a 12mm deep reach socket, it's SO CLOSE, but i can't turn the ratchet. How does one remove tha actuator - beyond removing the two bolts?
