A bad turbo thrust bearing can make an engine smoke oil/water out the tail pipe and not put anything in the charged air side of the system..

Make sure you get the Precision 4088. It has the un-devided housing.

I run a 4088 with precision .86 housing. It hits at 4k like a semi truck rear ending you. Im 420ish @ 12psi on my 1jz

You can get a hydrofan waterpump front half, if you want to pay new dealership prices, my guess around $100, since 2JZGTE ones are around $60. I can email castle hill toyota, james, for you if you wish for a quote.

the nylon blade sits on the shaft by what looks like tiny little teeth about .5mm in lenght, its pressed on. All replacement waterpumps are steel bladed, that dont fail like that.

The stock waterpump blades are plastic, and when it gets old, the impeller spins on the shaft under pressure. Happened to me, but i dont use hydro, so it was just a quick run to the auto parts store for a replacement pump.

Thanks guys. PS, dont ever bring a lowered car to the yoda dealership. They bent my exhaust bracket in the back and now my muffler hangs 4in below where it should and leaks. At least the oil change was free lol

Nothing wrong with either motor. Its more of a personal preference. They both have their design advantages and disadvantages.
