there are typicly 3 reasons why auto makers use a 2 piece shaft as opposed to a one piece. 1 angle whether it be pinion to tailshaft, or vertical i.e. not a straight shot from the tailshaft to the pinion. 2 length. or the 3rd a combonation of both.

if you are thinking cylnder 1 is in the rear, and 6 up front closest to the firewall, then acording to these readings what your calling cyl 2 is actually number 5 and the one prone to blow the hg. firing order is not relavent here. ive rebuilt 7 of these motors all will bhg, only one was not...
correct length? as in the wires? this is an oem i have in there, only thing i did was replace the end on sensor and engine side to a gm style 3 prong plug. but on the scope all looks great.
the other thing you can do too if the tems is still not doing what you hoped for, take off the actuaters, and adjust them manually. i have done this once, little too stiff at times on the 3rd setting, lol. but VERY cool for cornering :evil2:
