My "spirit" would be when I did a Twin Turbo L24 in a 240z way back in the 1980's ;)
There is no real reason to do twins on an I-6 these days with modern Turbo's available.
The cracks are from a few reasons.
Thin Deck on the early blocks
Not chamfered or deburred
Crap left in the holes/threads
I don't believe overtightening them is a root cause though.

Sequential is only part of it he has it set for flat shifts as well using "gear cut", they use a strain gauge on the shifter to cut power so you don't lift at all during shifts.
