It actually glues the piston and pads so when the pistons retract it pulls the pad away from the disc and stops the squeak.
If you let it cure fully you could blow a light coat of high temp satin black paint over the top to hide the red/blue of whatever product you use.
I'm guessing you're never been in a big accident?

It will normally appear as "Map Compensation" and be a linear table starting in vacc and being negative numbers ending at boost at positive numbers with the 0 point at atmospheric ie:14.7.
