This debate has gone on for ages that the Green is the same as Toyota Red just with a different dye, this is my own personal experience with it.

Even if you mount up a real Air to Air Oil cooler in front of the rad you're still stressing the engine cooling as you're preheating the air going through the rad.

Most of my stuff is new or has been cleaned at the machine shop, it's been a long time since I've had to remove carbon and gunk.
I'll keep the oven cleaner thing in mind.
Only concern I'd have doing it assembled is the Oil port to the Cams, I'd fill it with heavy grease before they started cutting then blow it out from the Cam side when done.
"If" you have access to the root of the crack you could drill a small hole to prevent it continuing then Silver Braze the crack shut after thorough cleaning and that would stop it in it's tracks but that hinges on the "if".
Motorsports is a very different environment to road use....
Cars are also inspected at regular intervals and the duration just isn't there.
Road car can do 60K Km's a year easily a race car might be 1/10th of that if endurance raced.
Work hardening is a time issue with aluminium.
