Siamese block, the best LS heads yet, and a bunch of small detail improvements being a Gen I-V. :)
(glad a I didn't buy an LS1 a couple of years back when I was considering it)
If your block hasn't had much off the deck you can get away with it as there's a slight recess where the rivet is.
It's not "said" to be the same as a Cometic it IS a Cometic ;)
If I had to do it over and was going to stay under 500rwhp I'd drill and tap the G series case for an Oil return between the Pinion bearings and run my Cooler and pump and get some 3.54 gears for a T1 Torsen.
NOTHING for my 9" was off the shelf it's all custom and cost a fortune to do and is...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo............................. ;)
Damn expensive option as EVERYTHING was custom if I had to do it again I'd find an existing Big IRS pumpkin and adapt it to work.
Removing cost as a factor if someone offered me the choice between a 600rwhp 1uz or an Ls I'd take the Ls everytime simply for the displacement, it will be nicer/more fun to drive in the real world in a heavy Mk3.
