Thanks Bishop. What kind of ebc are you using? I'm thinking about the avcr or the greddy profecb. Those seem to be the most popular. Also, what bov are you using? Their seems to be alot of people on here with the HKS bov. I have the turbo xs. Just thought I would ask while I had your attention...
Hey Hott.......I just made a thread about my turbo. I have a garrett to4e with 50 trim. I don't know if that is good or not, since I'm not a turbo expert. I do know it spool pretty good and spools alot. It has an internal wastegate and it's suppose to be set at 14 psi.
My turbo (Garrett to4e w/ 50 trim) is supposed to be set with a 14 pound wastegate. Is this standard for a turbo of my size? All I really want to run is up to 14 psi. I just don't think I need more than that. What do you guys/ gals have your wastegate set at? What kind of turbo do you have, and...
Anyone else had any problems with their turbo creeping past their set boost limit. What did you do to fix it? Could my ddp cause my car to lose it's kick. Does the turbo need a certain amount of backpressure? I know everyone loves the ddp, but my car ran good with just the HKS downpipe. I don't...
I'm having the same problem hottscennessey. I just dynod at 406 rwhp @ 18 psi. with no bc. It took a while to boost that high, but it just keeps climbing. I had a turbo xs mbc on it, but it wouldn't hold. I had it set for 13 psi, but it would just go right on past it. I then bought the turbo xs...
Why would you spend money on the auto, if you're going to do the manual swap? Auto's are pretty expensive to rebuild, especially if you're wanting to make it a little stronger. I checked into rebuilding my auto, and decided to just swap it out for a five speed. Good luck with yours.
That's what my older dyno showed. But the only diffence I've made other than the manual transmission is the DDP. When I dynod at 317 I had a curve that went almost straight up like yours. Now It's more like a straight line gradually going up.
Of course it goes without saying that I didn't...
I was told that the Greddy Prof B is a good ebc. I know you like the avcr that you've installed, but I don't know if I need that many functions like you do. You're running a rocket ship and I've got a cropduster.......................;)
Thanks IJ, I thought you had abandoned me. I was going to order an ebc, but couldn't decide which one to get. The avcr is just huge like my afcII, I didn't know if I had enough room to install it.
Does that open the wastegate when the spring loses tension. Maybe it makes it cracked open a...
My clutch is only two weeks old, and I haven't been getting on it hard at all. I have raced it on the track four passes, and two dyno pulls, but when I'm on the street I haven't barked second at all. I'm just hoping that it's in the wastegate somewheres. I hate taking the turbo off, driving one...
Can't really tell you. My compressor will hold 130 psi. I only plugged it up for a few seconds so it didn't have but maybe 25 psi in it. I only pulled the trigger for real short bursts to open and close the wastegate. I doubt I hurt it, but maybe something is wrong that can be fixed fairly...
I did that about a month ago. Didn't see anything that looked out of place. I used my compressor to open and close the wastegate. I was told I may have hurt the diaphram on the wastegate by putting too much air to it. Don't know if that's possible, but that's what I was told. I'm going to take...
Maybe my wastegate isn't getting stuck open, because I'm getting boost. I was boosting 18 psi while I dynod. It just seems to take a while to get there. Still waiting for any suggestions.
^^^^^^^^^funniest line EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just bought a new 16 pound radiator cap today, because while I was dynoing I had coolant bubble out of my radiator. Please don't anyone tell me I have a blown headgasket, cause I've got my fingers in my ears and I'm not listening................lol
