Ive not seen that routing before, intersting, but Im not sure I like it visually. As for the heat from the radiator, you could always add a little heat wrap to that section of pipe like they have. Also the way that most people route it sends the pipes right over the turbo so Im not sure there...
Tanya that has alot to do with the lower curb weight in the mk2 as well. I loved flipping my mk2 around corners and u-turns. Its a much more nimble car right outta the box imho.

^^That car is/was sick HOT! Not many things scream LOOK AT ME! like Kawasaki green. I would park that right next to my ZX6 and love it!

doesnt have to be that high, not so high you can stand under, just high enough to sit under. About 4.5 to 5 ft works. If you are the kind of person that like to "roll outta bed" its NOT a good idea, lol
how big is your bed and how high is your ceiling? For very little cost you could build a platform for your bed that is high enough to put your desk underneath it. When I was in college and sharing a room with a guy thats what we did.
so you are saying that you spike to 10-12 with no intevention at all? That tells me you have a problem somewhere. Shimmed gate? pressure leak on your boost reference lines? the stock gate should be 6-8 at most. You could try bypassing the boost controller (just run a line from the turbo outlet...
