    7M "Ventilation Hose"

Or a Header Evac system, no PVC at all is going to result in massive blowby effects followed by it pushing the Dipstick out then the front and rear main seals... Those STUPID Cam cover filters Oil soak in hours then become so restrictive they barely flow air through them and spit oil over the...

    Theoretical Question

Gas is a damn sight more volatile than Kero Nick, I'd assume someone doing this would be smart enough to do it outdoors with no ignition sources nearby but after reading your post I'm not so sure ;)

    Ps1000 haltech

Ran an M800 MoTeC with the Lot here :) Pros: Great stable bit of gear that can do anything you can imagine Cons: Expensive and only as good as the Tuner (me in this case)

    Electric Water Pump

Yes it can be used standalone (personally I wouldn't trust an EWP as the only pump)

    Theoretical Question

Doubt that a dunking would kill it, electronics are fairly well sealed. A Bud's younger brother has a Suzuki 4wd thing that got washed off a bridge (I mean 10' under water) we recovered it a week later and got it going again, just meant draining everything washing it out and refilling ;)

    7M "Ventilation Hose"

Cool, I just bought a new hose for mine and ignored it as it doesn't hurt anything.. as I said the block hole of from the old 5M Distributor so I guess someone at Toyota figured it's a good way to add a drain, it has NOTHING to do with the PCV system unless all the other holes in the Head are...

You can pull the Block fitting easily enough then cap it with a welsh plug, not sure how easy the one in the cam cover pops out.

    7M "Ventilation Hose"

Up to you, only thing I can see it actually doing is a Drain for slung Oil off the front of the Cams, it's not ventilating anything as both the Cam cover and Crankcase are at the same pressure due to all of the internal passages.

    7M "Ventilation Hose"

It was actually done to fill in the Old Distributor hole in the Block ;) How on earth would a Vent between the Cam cover and the Block relieve pressure? (think about it a bit)

    pockmarks in decked block?

Pulls #1 cylinder half a thou when torqued correctly to 36 ft/lbs, much more when over tightened which is easy as it's a 14mm fine pitch bolt.

    pockmarks in decked block?

It "should" be perfectly uniform top to bottom, looks to be some lows left and maybe someone has yanked the stones out towards the end of the last pass. Also it should have had the Timing Tensioner torqued in place before honing.
