Drive it around long enough for it to overheat. Not a 5 minute drive, a 45 min drive, and climb a few hills to put some load on the engine. I know several people who test drove a Supra and bought it, only to have it overheat on the long drive home. Otherwise, it sounds like a good deal.

I am having trouble locating this for a reasonable price. I need a 3" od mandrel 90* bend, with a 3" or shorter radius. It's for my turbo downpipe. It needs to have 6" or longer legs, but one will be cut off to go to the v-band flange. Who stocks these?

To see if it is rod knock, pull the spark plug wires off, one at a time. It will run a little rough, but if it is rod knock it will go away when you pull the wire off the cylinder that has rod knock.

If you buy the car with 188k miles on it, it will probably start having issues at 188,001 miles. LOL People usually don't sell Supras unless they have early bhg symptoms or some other expensive repair needed soon. OR, they did some expensive repairs and it still has problems.

I agree. If his Supra is a source of frustration then he should just sell it and get a more reliable car. Mk3 is a good project car for people who enjoy working on them, or people that have a large amount of spendable income to put into them. It is not a good car for students.

Get thing running already so you can turn the boost up to the <blow the housing apart> setting on the boost control! :biglaugh:
