Can you put 15psi of air to the turbo and see if the wastegate opens like it should. I used my air compressor and had to do this on my wife's turbo last year. I found out that the wastegate was opening properly, but it wasn't closing all the way, so our problems are a bit different.

Truer words have never been spoken. You can really tell by the sound that the turbo wants to go to about 25-30psi, but we kept a tight leash on it and never let it get past 17 except for one quick spike to 21 before we adjusted the boost cut with the stinger. The tune is very conservative and...
Welcome to Supramania and make sure you start your rebuild thread in the buildup section so you aren't tarr'd and feather'd. For the record red is probably third or fourth in the supra color pecking order, but at least you have the '91 model which is the best.
