I've seen more people screw up with a soldering iron than I care to remember. Yes, it is 'easy' to get a good solder joint if you have 1/2 a clue about what you are doing. But it's amazing how many people don't know what a cold solder joint is, or that overheating can make solder brittle, etc...
Anyone who can afford a 70k+ car probably is smart enough to have full coverage. This makes it a lot easier to laugh. :)
Sure looks like it's 100% in the interior, not under the hood.
I'll tell you, it's my experience that soldered connections are not an upgrade in high performance automotive apps.
Solder is brittle. Solder connections break due to movement and/or vibration. The OEM's & manufacturers, as a rule, use crimp joints for everything including many main battery...

Folks, we aren't politicians or lawyers. We've never acted like them. We don't play the "Hah! I see you violated rule 27 subsection 4! Therefore you must be banned!" crap. We never have.
Common sense applies. Again I ask that you show me one user who was banned without ample fair warning, PM's...
Hold up and actually think about how many people have actually been banned here. Do you know? I do, because I'm looking at the banlist. During the last 3 months of 2006 we banned 9 people for discipline problems. SF bans that many people in a day...
VERY few people have been banned, and...
Jeff's comment was, for all intents and purposes a backhanded slap in the face to the SM staff and community, drawing parallels between us and SF. Implying that we've gotten to big for ourselves and it's time for someplace new. Someplace run by different people.
The statement "I like some of...
You'd need an M800 ECU with the wideband A/F option. Someone will have to build you a wiring harness (if anyone wants to go down this road I can do this for you). You'll also need a 5 BAR boost sensor, a Bosch high speed air intake temperature sensor, an ignition expander, a Bosch ignitor, a...
Saying that you are considering a map-ecu or a standalone is like saying you might get a WWI biplane or an F-15 Eagle.
They are worlds apart. You might want to decide what your goals are with the car, what your budget is, who is going to tune it, do you have access to a chassis dyno?
If money...
