Thanks to the Louisville meet a few pics of my new paint job have made it onto SM, but I thought I shoud do a dedicated thread, so here goes...
Lets start with the interior. The original grey leather was in piss poor shape when I bought it last March, but just $400 got it looking pretty...
There's a simple fix if you're worried about joy rides... Get yourself a pad of receipts or something like that with a carbon copy page from Walmart, write the mileage on it when you drop it off and tape the carbon page to the dash in plain view. No joy ride, no need to get ugly. ;)
So how do you get the BEST JDM? My Supra had a very recent JDM swap and I ended up tackling a BHG within a month of owning it. Is it good enough to find an Ebay vendor who claims full compression and leak down testing?
It does seem like the fastest way to get the job done, but doesn't do...
I was approached by somebody at work with a relative who owns a 92 Cressida with a BHG in otherwise great shape, and looking to dump it cheap. I took a quick look at it (they were not there), and the body was in great shape with no rust and good paint, and interior was in amazing condition...
I looked heavily into a 944, preferably turbo, before I bought my Supra. I fell in love with the Turbo when I was in Germany in '88 and got a few rides on the Autobahn in one. They are freakishly fast for their reputation as a poor man's Porsche, I love the look, and handling is the best I've...
No White Castle?!!? And we don't have them here, but how could you leave out Whataburger???
Anyway, Burger King cheeseburgers - single or double. They both rock.
Taco Bell - Crunch Wrap Supreme and Cheesy Potatoes
I'm all over sending him the dog shit. Seal it up really tight so the Fed Ex workers don't have to deal with it. Put it in a box that the douche will actually open and get his surprise. He's earned it.
Or start flooding his inbox with spam.
Would this stuff work on my brake calipers and other wheel/brake/suspension components in place or would it all need to be pulled, treated and reinstalled? I put new rebuilt rear calipers on and they rusted almost immediately, and a lot of the other things are 16 year old original components...
The only problem I saw in going through the grommet is that it puts you over the headliner. How do you snake it over to the side and back out of the headliner without tearing it up?
Chris - I read your pre-paint thread, and your car looks absolutely great.
Good story about your wife, and the picture brings it all home. :) Last week I took my wife to a really nice formal dinner - $75 per plate at the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame induction banquet - and had just...
I think I just found another "no scratch solution". I have a rubbery mesh that goes between the frame and mattress of my futon to prevent slipping when it's in the couch position. I cut a small square out and placed the magnetic antenna on that. It grips much better than the little rubber...
Yeah, I was hoping to stay away from putting it on my freshly painted roof, too, but it's not much good to pay for every month if you can't pick up a signal. I might try the dash approach first and see how goes, since I don't make it downtown very often.
Congrats! Marriage is the best. You could be doing a lot worse than spending every day with your best friend - It's been good to me. :)
I went to a similar wedding in a park outside Louisville about 10 years ago, but I think it was a little less elaborate and more toward Scotland in the...
Didn't see anything in a search, and I'm ready to put my antenna in and start using my XM2Go in the car again. I think hiding wires under carpet/trim, out the top of the hatch and then mounting the magnetic antenna 1/2 way between the hatch and targa would get me the best signal, but I'd like...
Wow, Nashman's shifter would be a definite choice, but the way things are going, I will be moving ahead with the swap sooner than later and there's no word on when he's going to have the first run ready.
Poll looks to be in favor of the SOGI mod...
Well that changes things a bit. I'm only 5' 10", and I like my seat back, sitting upright, and the wheel kind of close with the telescope. Sounds like a good way to have to stretch for the shifter...
So the main problems & fixes are:
1. Problem - long reach. Fix - ease up on the seat recline (not a problem for me)
2. Problem - notchy shifting. Fix - new green bushings
3. Any Others?
Well I went with bolts due to ease of use - it is no harder to replace with ARP's then with stock bolts. From what I hear, if you use studs then pulling/resetting the head on the block can be a bit of a PITA if the block is still in the engine bay, and since I wasn't having mine machined for a...
