1JZ overbore pistons would be fine, only if the 2JZ block has the same machine work to match that oversized piston diameter, the piston pin/connecting rod diameters are also the same, just stroke/rod length are different Theoretically, for these reasons it would be better to stay 1JZ...

Only if youre sitting at a stand still, driving wasnt noticable at all for me, drove it open DP for like 3months

1JZ pistons would be an upgrade over 2Js because they have a smaller skirt therefore are lighter. How bout custom rods on a 1J crank in a 2J block!? You can call it BastardJZ:biglaugh:
