I defiantly see your point when i just had the rotor on there with the lug nuts holding them tight, it was pretty obvious that i need a shim to center the rotor.

Double check you wired into the right wire colors. I had that problem when i got my vpc installed. Its just one of those deals where one wire is off and freaks everything out.
