Have you checked for boost leaks in your intercooler pipes?
Also, check the threads at the bottom of this page to see what they did to fix their problems.
You can add a bov to your stock turbo. Here's a link on upgrades to your car that may or may not help you.

I would have thought that with only 5.5 psi, you'd lost to both of them, but I'm glad to know you didn't. I can't imagine being on only five and a half pounds of boost.

My wastegate is set at 13.5 psi. It seems most people on here hit boost in the higher rpms of first. I may shift out too soon because my car spins way too much through first and second if I'm trying to accelerate quickly.
