You may have to explain why I have no ventilation. I have the stock setup installed now. Seems like the crankcase pressure would escape into the intake duct. Is this correct?
I guess I need to tell everyone my mods and goals as far as overpressuring the crankcase. I have the Lexus upgrade, 550 injectors, ct26 with 60 trim, and all the mods to go with it to make 400 rwhp. I plan to run a max of 18 psi of boost. I am not looking at getting the nth degree of horsepower...
Sorry for the extra post. I don't have a PVC system. When I bought the motor for the transplant, it did not have the cover that went across the back of the head. I just blocked off the two holes. Could that be a problem?
My builder tested the crankcase pressure and said it is too high and that it is causing oil leaks. He's a knowledgable guy and builds stock and race engines for a living, so I feel like he knows what he is talking about.
I had mine done at performance techniques $475. I've only had it 6 months, but it's doing fine. I had a 60 trim w/ no clip done. You may have to tell him you are a Supra forum member.
The guy that rebuilt mine used 20w50 motor oil in mine. He said almost every tranny will work with it. He did mention that it would take some breaking in for the crunch to stop, but my main concern is that it hangs up going from 2nd to 3rd fairly often unless I do the up, over and up pattern. I...
Was your doing it all the time or just when it haven't been driven for several hours?
What about shifting also? Can you go from second to third with no problem or do you have to make more of a Z pattern?
I just did a tranny swap and had it rebuilt, but I still have the problem of it not going into gear sometimes. I took it back to the guy and let him drive it, but his grandpa shifting proved no problems (forward slowly, over to the right slowly, and then forward slowly). He said shifting at a...
Make sure you look at lift height. Some of those jacks will only lift to 14". I would go with a minimum of 16" raise height and more if I could get it.
Yes, there is some leaking down on the passenger side and it looks like it could be getting in, but it doesn't look like near the amount that is in the bottom of the bell housing. We have been checking the back of the engine but I needed to know where to look.
With the car on the rack, the...
I'm sure it is not gear oil. That stuff smells so bad you can't hardly mistake it. I'm thinking it's probably running down the back of the engine. I think there are two cover plates that cover holes on the back of the engine. I was under the impression that they were vacuum orifices, which I...
Had my engine rebuilt and have only run it 500 miles. I found a good bit of (dark) oil in the bottom of the bell housing, so I took it back and told them it had a rear main seal leak. They looked, but there is no oil on the flywheel or clutch cover, so they suspect it is running down from the...
