Thanks for the feedback guys. I will try a few things out and report back to you. Unfortunately, it's 97 degrees here and I'm not really in the mood to see how hot my leather seats are at the moment. I'll check this out this evening though. Thanks again.
As for the richness, it is running a...
It was set to 3.5 already when I bought the Stinger. I didn't know which way I should go to help it. I was told to go lower so that's where it's at right now, but it's been too dam'd hot to drive it and test it out. I will try going higher than the 3.5 and see how that helps.
What do you...
Summit sells a 49/51 mix called boost juice and that is what I"ve been using. I've since bought a five gallong container of 99.9% methanol alcohol so I could mix my own. I think I like it 51/49 or as close to that as I can.
I'm curious where everyone has their settings at in the ECU setup. I've been having problems with my car breaking up in the higher rpms (6500 and above) @ approximately 20psi. I think I can change a few things that will help it, but I wanted to see where you guys have yours set at.
If you...
It sounds like you're hitting boost cut. If you turn the boost down just a bit does it make a clean run? Maybe it's blowing out the spark. It's hard to tell from the short pull. Good luck.
I was kidding about the bearings of course...........make sure he knows that the 1jz is a great motor, but contrary to popular beliefs.......it too needs oil and if he runs it without any, you'll be doing another swap for him. Good luck.
The only 100% way to make sure you don't get rod knock is to park it and never crank it.........other than that all you can do is make sure you build it correctly with proper tolerances and use a good oil as suggested by jdub. I don't know anything about a hundredth of a drop of water...
Everyone's opinon will differ, so let's not start a pissing contest.
The 1j is a great motor and I loved mine. I chose to go with a 2jz block since I had one available, but I never had any complaints about the 1jz other than the lack of torque jokes I got from the 7m guys................damn...
I'm pretty sure he asked ME for that info Ian.........here it is QS.

You're welcome. It really wasn't that hard to find, since all I had to do was copy and paste it from above..........:biglaugh:
