Sounds like clutch issue.
For reverse try
3rd then reverse
4th then reverse
Or push clutch in push clutch out push clutch in wait 3 sec and then try.
It's straight cut gears with no syncro so the gears don't always mesh up perfect and grind.
Ya. Have to seperate the main case. Move the reverse idler back from the gears and then seal it all back.
Don't loose the detent ball for the extension housing either. Best to remove it first with a magnet. Spring will come out first.
Ya there like 2500. Same price as mk4. That's what good brakes cost. Brembo calipers aren't cheap. My roommate sold just calipers from a genesis for 1k. Slightly used.
If it runs fine why rebuild?
Havnt touches mine other than gaskets and t belt.
Don't need to pull motor to remove the twins either. Tho it is easier you'll take more time removing the motor and installing it than to just remove the twins.
Because most people think there not capable of doing it.
Takes some measuring. And best bet would to have a machine shop cut the brackets out of billet.
Also because nice calipers for generic use are around 250 each. Rotors cross drilled and slotted 100-500 each. It's expensive.
