I am now thinking it is F104. The site www.lubricationspecialist.com shows a different cutoff date of 1993 for the F103. The threads of the F103 are also spec'd at 12 x 1.25 which does not match up to your 18mm.

The correct model would appear to be F103 (Toyota >88). Since the supra spans 86-92 its not really clear if this one will work (the drain plug part number is the same from 86-93 ). JJ, do you remember if this is correct?

Oil is a pretty good dielectric, so i don't think its your problem. Are your ignition wires in good shape? No cracks, frays, etc. Any black smoke out the back.... boost leak?
