i was driving into dallas with a buddy of mine and pass this lightly modded black crx ( can tell it had an intake, exhaust, but knows what else) but i slow down a bit and he pulls up obviously wanting to race, we slow down to about 30 then take off, from 30 - 50 i was ahead by a foot and then 50...

Exactly. Just make sure it will run and everything is in good condition.. Everything.. check all fluids... and consumption.. make sure you will have a running car before you spend too much on it :P

if that is the case he would have a lot of white smoke with whatever smell there is, to check just look at your exhaust.. or under the car.. look for dark red sap-like substance.. thats tranny fluid. if there is a leak it is a cheap fix at a transmission shop (not fun to do by yourself though)

don't forget the drive shaft as well :biglaugh: the auto one from your n/a will not fit. the good thing is your 1jz will have the same r154 transmission so no 'special' parts

you can use the transmission you have they should be the same unless im mistaken, i know you will have to put in a new break and clutch assembly and a few other little things that come with the manual transmissions the auto's do not have
