I really like the look of these mufflers. The new SP2 looks like crap IMO.
And the Greddy replicas on ebay look terrible too.
My tastes change constantly, so this muffler may be for sale when I get tired of it. :)
I'm still going to smooth it all down once more, and then shoot it with this high temp clear so it'll stay shiny.
It's kinda funny, I spent more on supplies to fixer' up than the muffler itself.
(I began today by removing the surface imperfections.)
(TRUST) Hiding under the rust.
(Finished welding the new entry pipe.)
(I discovered a crack in the casing)
(Prep)
(Weld)
Now most of the physical problems are fixed, I moved on to cleaning a bit.
(Before slight pass)...
I'm extremely bored, so I've decided to show off my restoration of an old Greddy SP muffler I got from Tubbie.
$30 dollars shipped to my door this morning:

So I cut off the blown up part in the rear and enlarged the muffler inlet.
Now I can insert a 3" pipe...
:(
My stock coils never wanted to cooperate with my DIS4. Sometime in the future I'll pick up another one and do a complete ignition overhaul.
I believe a video is in order? :)
A long time ago, I practically gave my stocker away... along with my fog lights which I kinda regret.
Check the FS section, and you'll come across some.
Do a search too, and you'll surly see something.
Same as the stock coil packs. (+) to all and ground triggers.
Coils cost about 120 some from MSD, but you need to change the plug wire ends as they're GM tower style.
I'm really glad to see a FFI, while still using a LEX afm. Your setup is identical to mine minus a different turbo.
Looks really good.
