    Engine rebuild questions

I'm not talking about the timing covers, I'm talking about the actual timing case that bolts to the block and is behind the timing belt. And where can I get FPIG? Thanks. -AM3

    Engine rebuild questions

I'm currently rebuilding my motor, and have run into a minor question. Should I use a sealant of some sort on the timing case gaskets, and what kind should I use. I'm pretty sure I should, but I wanted to double check with you guys. I'll update this thread as I have more questions. As always...

    Engine swap advice

What the crap?! I got the trans off, so I'm now staring in on swapping my built head to my good bottom end. What size are the inverted hex bolts for the head and the cover between the valve covers? I'm probably just gonna buy a set of allen sockets, but I'm curious... -AM3

    Engine swap advice

So I finally got around to pulling it out yesterday, after many delays in the project. The load leveler didn't make it easier, it made this job possible. Huge thanks to you for that advice. Now my next question is, what do I need to do to get the trans seperated from the engine? I already have...

    Engine swap advice

AC is totally removed. Wish I had known about the harness when I started this lol, would of saved like an hour labeling all those connectors, lol. Meh, its a learning experience. And I'll need to drain the trans to pull it with the motor, right? Thanks everyone for your help. And I'm in the...

    Engine swap advice

Yeah, my harness is pretty aged. It has almost no flex whatsoever. I took off the TB, and the part next to it, the IAC I believe to make it easier to get the harness out, rather than risk damageing it.I might get a new harness if I can find one, or worst case scenario, I'll make a new one. I'm...

    Engine swap advice

OMG! You have no idea what kind of a headache you just saved me! When the rod exited the block, it knocked off some vacuum lines and stuff, and there are a few others that weren't connected when I got it. This will be such a huge help. -AM3

    Engine swap advice

Ok, so for those of you that don't already know I bought my Supra for $1600 with a hole in the block. Its an 87 Turbo, with a built head, and some "custom" (hack-job) wiring. I'm working on removal right now. I have a service manual that gives good general info, but can be vague at times because...

Questions on differences between 7M-GTE and 7M-GE.

Not that its my goal, but are we talking 4 digit dyno numbers? Has anyone ever made enough power to break one of these cranks? -AM3

Questions on differences between 7M-GTE and 7M-GE.

That pretty much answers all my questions except for how much HP a 7M crank will safely support. Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it. -AM3

    Wait, the 7M has a 6M crank in pre 89's? -AM3

Questions on differences between 7M-GTE and 7M-GE.

I'm trying to find out if all 7M crankshafts are forged. So far I have looked on Supra wiki, and 7MPower and I have not gotten a definitive answer from either. I did find in this thread that at least some are forged, my guess would be the 7M-GTE's for sure. What I'm unsure of is if the 7M-GE...

New Mk III owner in the midwest

So I just bought an 87 Supra with a blown motor for $1600. A Mk III or IV Supra has always been one of my dream cars, but I never dreamed I would have one so soon in my life at age 20, lol. Red, Targa, 5-spd, built head, upgraded Turbo, and several other mods. For now, my goal is to get a short...
