Just have the controller command the fans on high using a relay. Controller powers the relay on that powers the fans on. No massive amperage draw to the controller and you get high speed. Make sense?

Yes, ground one end for sure. Don't do both, you want to avoid ground loops. I just realized that the stuff I had was RG58. Don't embarrass yourself by asking for 10base2, that's a very old name for it. The nerds at the store will laugh at you. It's a bad feeling. haha

Yep, that's an issue. Having it properly grounded is a big deal as well.

I believe it is 7 feet, to have proper slack, but that's going off of eyeballing it and "guesstimation"... Ask shaeff. I've built a few harnesses but it was a long time ago. He may still have some to measure for you.
