    Somone must know stockTIMING!!??

Figgie, when I checked the Tsrm, it actually says "7mgte Above 12 deg BTDC" That's the 87 hardcopy at home, did it change to 10 in later years?

wierd smoking habits of my car... help!

Yeah, the front piston ring seal is leaking on your turbos, which means that the thrust cap is probably worn and needs to be replaced. It's not that big of a deal, but a rebuil/upgrade should fix the smoking issue. Well, it will at least rule out the turbo as the source of the smoke issue. ;)

Cold as Hell and car Wont Start

I'd say give it about 90% throttle when trying to start it. IIRC 100% turns off the injectors altogether when starting, so give it lots of fuel. What MDC said is true, it takes a ton of fuel to start a cold motor. What's your fuel pressure? -Jake

    Gas Mileage?!?! Am I Alone?

Yep, nearly 400 ft-lbs of torque, stock, spool happy turbo, and we get 18-20 mixed driving.

    fcd question

FCO is not boost dependant, it's rpm/Karmann Hz dependant. The best way to get "around" FCO is to get a fuel computer of some sort. Just pulling the fuel that needs to be pulled to run in the 11.5 range will raise FCO a few psi on any given day (versus the same barometric pressure, temp...

I see, then yeah, sell it to them, but don't offer to help install it ;)

    High idle

It is located in between the intake manifold and the valvecover at the frontmost part of engine. That' snot the most clear picture, but hopefully it helps. -Jake

    245's On stock rim?

those of you running maft and 550's..

The only way you can tune for driveability when the stock ecu is in the car is by Vf. The TCCS will ALWAYS pull fuel to stoich unless it's in open loop mode. So you moniter Vf, and get it to where the Vf is always 2.5 or 2.25 (depending on year of ecu) if you do that, then when Vf goes to 0...

    Turbo trans

Yes, but you'll need a turbo flywheel and pressure plate to go along with it, as well as a turbo driveshaft. And also, Why? The W58 shifts better, and can handle anything that an NA can through at it, save a 200 shot of N2O.

    245's On stock rim?

I've run 245-45-16s on All four corners with no problems on the stock rims. We're currently running 245-50-16s on the back, and when those run out of tread, we'll be putting 255-50-16s out back and 245-45-16s up front. 255s in the back on a stock rim isn't the greatest handling tire, but...

so has anyone figured out the FCD in MAFT?

It should be a smooth transition, as you aproach zero boost, the ecu is pulling timing, and adding fuel, so full vac should be 14.7, zero psi should be around 13 or so, and anything above 8 psi IMHO should be 11.8 or so. I'd stay away from anything richer than 11.5. Also, I'd tune the AFR by...

so has anyone figured out the FCD in MAFT?

we set the KF cap per instructions and have ran 21 psi with 550s and no fco so far...

Sludge build up in the intake?

Bead blasting works nicely as well... Or running methanol injection in your ic piping, that cleans it right up. If the intake is that gross, I'd recommend running water through your intake to clean the combustion chambers, just put a good sized vac line in a liter of water and keep the motor @...
