I wish i took some, but i have the DS back in... its pretty bad, alot of viabration and clunks when into gear. I might have to cancel my weekend trip to cali for a damn driveshaft
Yeah see the problem is, there is no clip on this one. The actuall steel is knocked down onto the cap to hold it down. It looks like a groove would have to be machined into the driveshaft.. pain in the ass shit. A new front shaft is $600 plus $50 labor to press on. I can go 1 piece for...
Its on an SC300 with a340e and 1JZ. The front u-joint isnt the kind u can goto the DAP and buy to replace. Its one of those "permanant" ones. I honestly don't feel like spending $600 on a new driveshaft right now, but Ive been quoted $650 to fix my stocker!!!!!!
If u had a bad u-joint, ud hear the clank when u went into reverse or drive.
Also, u-joint viabration is harmonic at speeds, not random.
You could have broke a tooth in the ring gear too, that would def make a heavy viabration and some noise.
LOL.. first time i got a dead battery, in the rain, with my headlights on at night, while stopped at a busy intersection waiting for the green light.. I removed and never went back to underdrive pulleys again. Plus the 1JZ underdrive kits get RID of the harmonic dampner.. eek
Ah, good point. The ECU wont know when you hit 45mph to change the steering to manual.
I personally have a switch on my progressive steering. Its just 2 wires that goto the steering rack. I love the firm mode, but when parking in tight spaces, its nice to have full power when turning the...
I'm running in the 8500rpm range (stock cams/springs), i didnt want to take a chance. It only took a few mins to fix the sharpness in the garage. I might actually switch to a MKIV 6spd dampened accessory belt tensioner too. I did the pulleys just for cosmetics, I had bad experences with...
