    200RWHP

I was hoping you'd post AJ. Nice numbers. My current motor build "should" run 200 hp. easily. Only using 9:1 cr pistons, as I plan on n/a -> t at a later point. 200 will be about 1/2 then :evil2: A true, tuned tube exhaust header would be very advantageous. One that was built for...

    Mechanics hourly wages?

The mechanics I know who are exceptionally good, do it because they love it. I'm not far from 40 now, btw, and the "strenuous" part doesn't bother me. You're not call me old, are ya squirt? ;) Hell, I'll be wrenching on cars until the day I die. Maybe not other peoples, but always my own...

    BHG?? coolant under oil cap..

Have you pressure tested the cooling system and looked for other leaks, or to see if the turbo is leaking? Still kinda curious if it was the turbo like originally thought, or if it was mistaken bottle identity, or what. It is kinda odd that it wasn't mixed up and came out separated and clean...

    which Head Gasket to get??

Thanks JDub. By the way, its Cuel(cool). no "r". :) A lot of people do that... I had a bookmark to a thread where IJ discussed lapping in depth, but can't seem to find it. I think it was somewhere in his build thread, but don't really remember.

    Mechanics hourly wages?

That's true. The people I know that are making $120k + a year have been in business for 10+ years, and run respectable shops with good reputations. Most of them specialize in different areas(transmissions, imports, diesels). The ones who made a point of gouging customers, or did poor work...

    The (old) Official Gun Thread.

I've read in several places that the .45 Baby Eagle jammed a good deal, and are hard to be accurate with. The 9 is a dream. Accurate, cheap to shoot, and doesn't jam with the stock clip. The extended mag. seems to jam consistently at the 11th round with Remington, Winchester, or UMC(?) Luger...

    Mechanics hourly wages?

And more headaches as well. Now instead of just working on cars, you have to deal with customers, parts reps, taxes, overhead, employees, shop maintenance, shop rent or mortgage payments, light, gas, water, and phone bills, and the list goes on. You can't figure profit without first...

    intake

I never had a stock box. It was crushed when I got the car, and I never saw a reason to replace it. Technically, the stock air box, from what I can tell, does draw cooler air from in front of the core support. However, I doubt it has the ability to flow as much air as the open filter system...

    Chrsitmas travel emergency

Really... I've used Timken and Felpro seals for many years, without problems. Even in my own cars. To be honest, I don't remember which one makes the seals for the 7m. It might have been Felpro. Either way, they're both quality seals, just as good as the stealer part. Why does everyone...

    intake

Not really interested in bling. Much more interested in getting colder air into the engine. As far as feel, nothing over my last intake, but over stock it's a good improvement. My last one was the plastic tubing from A.Z., and the filter was bolted directly to the AFM. I wanted something...

    The (old) Official Gun Thread.

I've shot the ported XD in 9mm. Nice gun, but I have a hard time getting used to the flame and shock from the anti-kick coming back in my face. I can get a nice tight group rapid firing. My standard sidearm(at present) is a 9mm Baby Eagle. Shoots very well, and seems fairly accurate. Easy...

    which Head Gasket to get??

Yeah, I know there is some sort of measuring tool, was just curious. Haven't had to deal with mls gaskets until recently, as I'm starting to find them more in production vehicles. Been researching the local shops as to what type of machines they use, and what type of cut they give. Just...

    Mechanics hourly wages?

I make $30 per book hour. That's not saying I make $30 an hour, though. If a job is say, 4 book hours, I get paid $120 for the job whether it takes me 2 hrs., or 2 days. I make a lot more money getting paid the way I do now, but I have a lot of experience as well. When I started working for...

    which Head Gasket to get??

Thanks :) I was pretty sure he called it a CBN mill, but I could be mistaken. So if I know the number of cuts per inch, and what type of bits are being used, the RA can be determined? Just trying to verify the data I'll get.

Follow the TSRM for replacing a timing belt, and you'll have it licked. Just add the step for removing the pulley on the crank(should be able to wiggle it off by hand. If not, it has screw holes in it for a puller. DO NOT try to pry it off by the front lip.), removing seal(get a big, cheap...

    Anti-Christmas Thread

Mmmm, Christmas. Time to hit the bars trolling for depressed single hotties that are to drunk to care who, as long as someone, is willing to spend quality time with them. Nah, j/k. I enjoy Christmas. I like seeing that feverish light of greed and lust in the eyes of my nephews as they look...

    Fruitcake?

The fruit cake my step mom makes is pretty good. The stock that she lets ferment is even better.... Who's Clay Aiken? I thought that first pic was of a young Paul Reubens(Pee Wee Herman).
