First off, thanks for helping me figure it out. Second, I said that I was out of town and I'm going to be ordering parts because I need to sell the car asap. I haven't ordered anything yet. I knew its either the master cylinder or brake booster and thanks to you guys, we've narrowed it down...
Do you have the heat shielding for the exhaust still on there? If not, it will bring up the heat since the exhaust is right there. Also, do you have that boot that bolts to the tranny well where the shifter comes up? I didn't have one on mine for a while and the hot air was just flowing up...
Haha, I wish. I don't think it would spin the tires even if I revved it up and dropped the clutch. It's slow as dirt. It has the 1.5l engine that has like 90hp or something like that. But, on the other hand, it gets about 38mph.
CK-PM'd you back.
So my best bet is to get the master cylinder? I wish I was at the car right now to confirm that it is or isn't the brake booster. Like I said, it will stop just fine, it just looses the pressure on the brake pedal after sitting for a second.
Here's what I found the easiest and best looking results when I use the claybar/wax. If I managed to forget anything, I will edit this post.
1. Wash the car twice with some Dawn dish soap. It will remove pretty much remove any wax that is there.
2. Dry with your choice of towel or...
Shit, I totally forgot about that. That is actually how I figured it out before I realized what the bracket was for.
TaSe- Toby is talking about the 3 nuts that are on top of the strut. The fronts are the larger nuts while the rears are the smaller nuts (lol, that didn't sound right).
I'm about to sell my 1990 Civic HB and there is a problem with the brake system. I'm trying to figure it out so I know what to order so I can fix it and sell it.
When I'm sitting at a light or whatever with the brake pedal depressed, it will slowly go all the way to floor and the car will...
18kg Front and 14kg Rear. I absolutely love them. I use my car for DD and I have it set on full soft and it rides very smooth. I put them on full hard and drove around and it was stiff as hell. Almost made me sick to my stomach.
Here's what mine look like. Also take note of the top of the strut. They are shaped different. 2 middle ones are the fronts and the outside ones are the rear.
The left and right are the same. You can tell the front and rear by the little bracket that is on the strut body for the brake line to attach to. The front gets those ones. At least mine had those little brackets.
I think its like an 8mm or 6mm. Can't remember off the top of my head. I'm about 1400 miles from my car. But, if you have a small pair of vice grips, that would probably be the best since those little suckers love to strip.
