I think of it this way:
BPU: Basic Performance Upgrade
like intake, exhaust, throttle body, intercooler, etc.
APU: Advanced Performance Upgrade
turbo, standalone, ITBs, etc. Things that require other parts to get it done
I know some people here have made their own FFIM, or the couple of people who design/make/ and sell them,
my question for you is when you were doing it, how did you go about determining the volume of the plenum?
did you just try to get as close as you could to stock, is bigger better? what...
I have only ever referred to it as a SAFC online when I am too lazy to type out the whole thing...
when actually talking, its easy enough to just say

I found some shadow louvers for my mk2..
but I also found a couple power tools in the bed of a truck...which is rare cause they arent allowed in the yard...battery powered sawzall and drill.
I have had a couple old guys try and pull on me in my car...
