Roll racing is better and easier to come by on the hiway. i cant get traction below 3rd gear without lighting up the tires.
its pretty much pointless unless im doing like 3/4 throttle

ditch the 7mge and get a 1jzgte(if youre interrested in high revs), build the head, leave the bottom end stock and get a standlalone ems, single turbo upgrade and youll be well on your way.
on a serious note, 700 hp at the wheels is ALOT in a chassis like the ae86. in a car that light weight...
things ive done to reduce weight-
1. switch out stock front seats for racing seats( driver seat alone weighs like 90 lb)
2. rear seat delete including seat belts (sitting cushion left in to dampen exhaust noise)
3. sound deadening from underneath carpet (under front/rear seats and hatch area)...
i bought the standard t4 divided manifold and welded an undivided t3 flange on top. The only mod i did for the w/g to fit was shorten the tube about an inch and change to a tial 44 flange

HX40 with .70 ar housing on a 1jz. I can make 5 psi at 3000, and full boost about 3900. running 15 psi..dynolicious says i trap 122..
I had this exact problem and it turned out the DM fuel line bypass. This was on a bpu 1jz with stock injectors/twins.

look into mapecu, or mapecu2 if you want timing control. it does everything the emu does without having to buy a stupid harness/sensor for everything it claims it does.
its still a piggy back, but its one of the best and if youve been on supraforums, youll know its one of the most popular...
from my experience the dsm crowd really likes to bs. if they say spool at 4k, they probably mean positive pressure(aka 1 or 2 psi), and full boost probably comes on 4500+ rpm
i think you should look into the hx 40 with BEP housing. it spools right at about 3500 on my setup- and this is on a 1jz so you could get it to spool around 3k or lower depending on your compression ratio
n/a 7m runs on a karman vortex airmetering system, basically there is a flap that opens and closes to determine how much airflow is going into the engine meaning its hard to get a good tune on, hence the switch to 7mgte electronics which uses a standard maf signal.
