    bypassing heater control valve?

that's not what you do for the heater vsv bypass. you do that for the bvsv, charcoal canister elimination. just follow the diagram on page one of this thread and yes you can leave the two nipples off the vsv itself open.

550s & 255 fuel pump & Stock Air Flow Meter??

Sorry, I looked at your sig and profile but didn't see any mods listed, so I didn't know how far along you were. Now would be a good time for the wideband. You could monitor your tuning yourself and not need the dyno. Zeitronix is a great one. I wish you all the best in your recovery in New...

550s & 255 fuel pump & Stock Air Flow Meter??

I'd suggest: •Do a lot more reading - Here, SF, Cygnusx1, any of the links in "Sticky: Informative links" →this is a good one to start with: Write up's on each stage 1-3 •Do the easy things that the stock ecu can handle well: Intake Filter, Downpipe, Exhaust. •Then if you want to up...

550s & 255 fuel pump & Stock Air Flow Meter??

Yeah, if you already have the 550 and 255, just get the Lex ~$100-$150. Check the For Sale section. MAFT would require getting a GM MAF sensor, which are really cheap ~$30-$50, and filter to fit, also. At this point you should be considering an afpr too.

    lean idle after warm up.

probably because it's cold, the hole is sealed up, wherever it is. and the fuel adjustment has been adjusted because it normally thinks it's lean at idle and is dumping in more fuel, thus rich on cold idle. then as it warms up, the hole opens, sending you lean.

    lean idle after warm up.

my zt2 was showing a lean idle. VF was sitting on 5 and a/f would rise to 15, 16, 18, 19 a/f. Then it would run terribly rich at wot, 9.9, 9.6, 9.5 a/f. I tried checking all the vacuum hoses, accordion hose everything. Finally I took it to a local Goodyear shop to put it on the smoke machine...
