    crank

Hmmm..... There's a member or vendor here that does spin balancing, and, for the life of me, I can't remember who. He has a Nascar spec. spin balance machine. Has real good prices, to.

    Fluctuating temperature gauge

Check the connection at the sensor, for a dirty or loose connection. You can test the gauge by grounding the harness connector at the sensor. The gauge should move all the way up, evenly.

    no spark why?

Its not a mixture screw. Its an air bypass screw. If your car is working correctly, it should be all the way in. Check the wires at the cps. A lot of people have said they have to jiggle them a bit sometimes for this problem. Seems like the wires get loose in the harness connector? Not...

    JDM Crankshaft pulley 7MGE

110 psi. on the hose = 1000 ft. lbs. tq.(reverse) on my 1/2" impact gun. That pulley bolt comes loose pretty quick ;) With the motor out, drop the oil pan, and wedge the crank. Then get on it with a breaker bar and cheater pipe.

    Advice needed on block

Well, they all have to be in the correct order, and be pointing in the correct direction, so I would imagine so. I think he could mix and match, if you have a bunch off of another head, and find one close enough that he could bore it to fit correctly. Might cost you a little extra, though...

    Need major help!!!

Starter staying engaged could be the starter itself, ignition, or bad wiring. Does the small push on wire have power with the key in the "on" position?

    Pic request: 7M Part

Ok, so the mkii I have at the shop is an '85 model, but it has a motor out of an '83 in it. I called my parts people, and everyone said the water pumps are the same from 82 to 85. That said, here's some pictures for ya: The last one is them stacked. The holes all line up...

    Pic request: 7M Part

No problem. I'd help you out with a crank out of my 86.5 n/a, but its not in good shape. Knuckle head I got it from drove it with spun bearings, and trashed the journals to a point where I wouldn't risk using it.

    Advice needed on block

Hmmm.... I'd be worried about using the sandpaper(as Doward said). The first pic looks like it was sanded. You need to get a straight edge, and check the block for low spots. It's pretty easy to remove a thin layer of steel in small areas, especially if its a little soft in spots. Probably...

    Need major help!!!

Iirc., the only small wire that goes to the start just pushes on(signal wire). I don't know if those ground wires would reach the starter, but that could very well be the problem.

    Pic request: 7M Part

Oh, I just realized what you want. I have a customer's mkii('85) at the shop(one of those 1/2 done, please finish this for me, motor is kind of in, harness is just laying there, nightmare inducing type projects I happily forget about). I'll see if the 7m pulley fits with the 5m w.p. and fan...

    BIlstien struts

Thanks for the info., Tim. I'll definitely look into the Hypercoils and sleeves. One more "quick" question: With the sleeve and coilover spring combo suggested, I take it I'll need to get the suspension balanced? I know a guy that does dirt car suspension and chassis who could set it up for...

Actually, for a stock gasket ap., it looks pretty good(I've seen a whole lot worse...). What did you use to clean it up?

What exactly do you need a pic. of? The fan clutch, just the pulley, or both? I have them off of my other car, and can take some pics tomorrow for ya.

    Ever feel like a dumba$$...

I've done similar on a PowerStroke. Shot oil on the ceiling. Later I found out that they use a high(1500 psi) oiling system to fire the fuel injectors. That was quite a while ago. I forgot to tighten the fan/w.p. pulley bolts on a Chevy truck(they were finger tight). Luckily I drove it...
