i thought what killed the rotaries is the temporary lean condition when you cut the fuel. if it pings, you will hear the sound of the cash register as you buy a gasket kit and new apex seals.
but back on topic, good to hear that fuel cut on mkiii's is actually spark cut. never would have...
update: if anyone else is reading this with intent to install this valve, get vacuum elbow #47411 instead of #47410. MUCH better fit, no gap to clamp down around

as far as pressure goes, I am seeing ~50psi @ 3k rpm when it is cold in the morning, and it drops to around 40 when it is warmed up. At idle it is just south of the 20psi line, and then as best as I can tell it falls to around 10-15 when it is warm.
