    Custom Valve shims

Thats because they dont exist. Like I side before, the only way that you are going to get the sive that you want is to have larger ones ground / lapped down to the size. Again, not wort the hassle or money...... also, no clearance is not going to cause noise. excessive clearance is what...

    Custom Valve shims

Your not going to find valve shims in those sizes. Just use the closest size to what you want. i.e..... 3.00, 3.05, and 2.65 The only other option is to go with the next larger size and have a machine shop surface grind them to the size that you want, but IMHO, not worth the time, money, or...

    1UZ into my MKIII

Sorry for the delay in posting here. I have been so busy between work and other things that I have not had much time at all to work on the project. Everytime I turn around and try to start working on the swap some more, something else comes up and I have to put it off. Unless money is no...

It was the actual attaching bracket that broke.

Broken swaybar mount (not the usual rear either)

So, for the past two days, I have been getting this wierd clunking noise from time to time that was comming from the right front.... I finally got some time this evening to pull things apart and find what the noise was comming from. This is what I found: (sorry for the somewhat poor photo...

    Thrust bearing wear

Yeah, I agree... An Auto doing that is quite strange.

    Thrust bearing wear

Make sure that the crank doesn't have any grooving in it. My old motor had good thrust bearings and a nasty groove in the crank. (still cant figure that one out beside the fact that then thrust bearing are coated steel.)

    Thrust bearing wear

Not if it was my old motor, damn crank wound move almost an 1/8" (3mm). LOL, yeah there was some strange ass grinding noise when you stepped on the clutch. Funny thing was that besides when you stepped on the clutch, you would have never known that there was anything wrong

    Whats wrong with this picture?

I agree, some things are strange about the car, but it does infact have the later dash cluster for one. As for the Turbo badging on the trim, it might infact be there and you just cant see it cause of glare, you cant see the "Toyota Supra" badging on the pass. trim either so it might be there...

can we use this port for the oil drain???

And you wont. to add to that, you wouldn't want to use that small of a drain anyways. Basically what Jon (MDC) said, or the other option is to open up or drill a hole in the pan and weld a fitting on.

    garrett turbo question

if a custom backing plate was made, it could probably be done, but why? for the effort and money envolved, it would be easier to just go buy a GT30

    no thermostat no overheat?!?!

dont drive it, fix it! If you are leaking any coolent into the oil, you will destroy the bearings in short order for one. Two, it is only going to get worse. Three, in hot climates, prolonged high speed driving (hwy cruise) will most likely cause the car to overheat without a T-stat. The...

    valve cover bolts

They shouldn't be really tight, just snug. Most like though the reason why you have tones of oil down there. Over time, they do become loose cause the rubber grommets for one harden and shrink and two, the actual valve cover seal does the same thing especially on the exhaust side cover due to...

    Fuel Warning Light

True and false. The pump is low, but not at the bottom. The tank is 18.5g,'s, but you run out (car dies) at about 16.5g's. Toyota hung the pump up a bit to keep it from picking up any heavy sediment from the bottom of the tank, but some of that junk still sloshes around.... The stuff that that...
