It makes a difference with fluid dynamics. Similar to what Seth was mentioning. You have dynamic velocities occurring within the exhaust as well as thermal dynamics. Keeping these dynamics separate is the only sure way to know you're avoiding any minimal restrictions/turbulence. I feel it's...
