I don't think you need to worry about it as this surface is a nonactive surface. meaning it will not see any friction or contact the crank. The bearings sit on that surface and don't move. Now if the crank looked like that then you'd have problems.

Go to the dealer and buy a dipstick for the mkiii, it has been updated. I bought one a while back and it's a big improvement over the old one, I had even tried roughing the old one up to make it work better but it was still a pain, so I bought the new one.

I don't think it would be too hard to make fit, you would just have to remove the vent ducting in the dash that feeds the center two vents.

It all depends on the maker of the FG bumper. Some actually weigh a lot, the stock skin is actually light weight, it is the inner support and metal brackets that are heavy. For example, I have 2 FG bumpers at the moment. One is the Max Evo, the other is the Shine-auto replica Spec-G Bumper...

I'm running 255's on all 4 corners, 17x9 27mm offset, running 255 40 17. I rub the front fender lip on hard bumps, so rolling is needed with this offset.

The heater core could have gotten clogged when you "flushed" it, or there is air in the system.

I would think you could put it anywhere that it would grab, just use commonsense and keep it away from fuel lines, or anything that could be damaged from too much heat. I think if it is a sensor problem (sensor acting up below a certain temp) Then warming the coolant would help you more...
