Z-z-z-z-z-zombie thread! Way to bring it back Zum. ;)

1946 Chevy Fleetmaster 2-door, meet "Betty"...

Minor update, just picked this up: 1993 Lexus LS400, 176k on it, runs like a champ so far. Drove it from ~220 miles away yesterday, nothing worth mentioning really. The good: -Runs pretty good from what I can tell -28-30mpg highway, nice and quiet too... -Nice as hell interior...

Tell me more about GMC Typhoon...

I'd believe it. Between the weather and the "garage" you are blessed to enjoy, I wouldn't be surprised at all. If not for what you guys call "spiders" (and the rest of us call demons), I might even be a bit jealous haha. :p Edit: Just realized how "loveable kid" with the "naughty" smiley might...

    QV35 swap?

Smartest thing I've seen you say in this thread... There is a reason they're put in pretty much everything with wheels to turn. ;) Heh, I doubt you'd have anyone taking the other side of the bet... One thing with the VQ, how wide is it? I remember working on a friend's Z33, that thing was a...

[1jzgte-MA70] I keep hitting the FC on cold days(night)

Try removing the boost controller. No reason with those mods that you wouldn't be able to hit 11-12psi all day long anyway. Threads like this are making me wonder if I don't have a tuned/modified ECU. Far as I can tell, the only reason I ever hit fuel cut was because of dirty plugs.

    Question for performance experts ..

Port/shape/polish the head, run higher compression, get more aggressive cams. Word of warning though, aside from the compression bump, you'll make the car a little less driveable, and into more of an on/off switch if you push things *too* far. ;)

    Gear Ratio Question

4.10 or 4.30 would give you good acceleration, but a lower overall top speed than a lower gear ratio like a 3.73 or 3.42. Depends on the kind of driving you do. Lot of in-town commuting or mountain road racing? Stick with higher gear ratios (4.xx's). Do a lot of highway commuting or road trips...

Bad ECU vs. Bad IAC Valve

I'd say check the usual suspects concerning the ignition... i.e., cracked boots, bad wiring, bad grounds, etc. To eliminate the ISCV as a potential problem, unplug it and see how it runs. IIRC, it will start, rev up on its own, settle back down, rev up, and so on, until it is plugged back in...

But that would cause it to run rich, causing worse mileage... Hard to say what he means it seems.

Driveshaft Decision. I'm torn. Advice from experienced?

What causes imbalance? Is it impurities in the materials used, where a uniform weight is difficult (or nearly impossible) to attain? I'm just curious here, I always thought that a driveshaft could be balanced for certain speeds. Or is it one of those things where problems become more pronounced...

    Removing that little Trim panel?

If you can, I recommend a lock nut for replacing these panels when you put them on. Less chance they'll come off and you'll have to do it again. Doesn't help if the panel itself where the screw becomes brittle over time and just breaks though. :nono: 3p, what did those screws cost you? I was...

    aftermarket tie rods

I would guess it is a type of anti-seize thread coating, but your guess is as good as mine.

    Need your help(as always) lol!

Remove the upper sections first. Should be three bolts for each half of the upper rear seat. The bottom just pulls out with a little gentle coaxing. There are two tabs that you need to pull on to get it to "pop" out of its retaining hole. Really though, I hate to sound rude, but if you haven't...

What is the RAREST MKIII Supra?

I would say it would be a neat conversation starter, but just because it is the first, doesn't make it rare. The first man to walk upright... nothing more than a note in history. Now, if it were the first man to be given wings... On the subject of brown and mahogany pearl, I really like the way...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Whatever the owner wants to sell it for, really... no longer made. Sorry to hear that man, post a pic or two? There are many other threads of a similar nature unfortunately. Stupid "operators" that are allowed on the roads... As for me, I drove my car about 450 miles (Laramie and back)...

    Supra Won't Hold Traction Now!

This was my thought. Plus, less parasitic loss with the lighter components means more power ends up at the wheels, correct? I've ran those on the back for years now. Not going to say it is an end-all, stick-all, but it goes a long way to helping traction out, especially coming out of corners...

Any way to protect rubber hose?

Better than the alternative. I've worked in industries where people have 6 different names for one item. Worst part is, when they get pissed because you don't know their redneck term for something, and they think YOU are the dumb one... RTFM. That's all I have to say about nomenclature. ;) I'm...

    Aftermarket bumper that looks good?

Pretty clever... may have to look into one of those if I start getting bothered about it like I used to... Well said sir. Personally I prefer the earlier bumper from an airflow perspective. Lot of air that could go through the radiator might just be passing up onto the hood of the 89+ bumper...

    Test run engine stand

Air, fuel, spark? Sounds like you have all your ducks in a row to me... Really don't even need the radiator if it is just a test run, just don't run it too long. ;)
