Supradupra.com 2.5TT Aero Limited JDM refurb (yUK)

I honestly think you've pretty much convinced me to get a 1JZ. Cleanest, meanest looking motor bay I've ever seen. The custom digital dash actually reminds me of the stock AE86 digital dash...BUT WAY F**KING COOLER. Mostly because it's in a Supra. I'm in absolute shock and awe at the...

Project "so I have this widebody..."

Idk. Sure holds boost and lets it go like an HKS, though. Also, found my boost leak...my 3000 pipe wasn't clamped down to the throttle body. Back to 7.5 psi, ready to gun for more! Especially after I picked up my GReddy Profec-B yesterday...now for a boost guage and wideband controller/display.

Project "so I have this widebody..."

Well, yesterday went pretty well. Looked down deeper, saw my MHG, and called that a day after checking the head torque; 76 ft-lbs. Whee, everything's gravy with my combustion chamber! So I put it all back together, and started looking at my door solenoid. At least, that's how it came...

Project "so I have this widebody..."

I was also thinking that a metal gasket would have some resistance value if tested with an ohmeter, and the composite probably wouldn't conduct electricity. But I was also really tired last night. How's the new shop looking, Ace?

Project "so I have this widebody..."

Walked out to start working again, and found a lonely, abandoned door solenoid on my doorstep! Well, I guess USPS figured I need it sooner than amazon told me it would get here. Two days early, in fact. So...time to get funky. I took another look at my head bolts just now. They are definitely...

Project "so I have this widebody..."

So today, I took apart my intake and popped the valve covers off to retorque my head in preparation for more boost. Pics or it didn't happen! Before work: Accordian hose, AFM, intake cone, and post-intercooler intake piping removed. 3000 pipe, PCV pipe, pipe in front of 3000 gone, throttle...

lots of white smoke coming from the exhaust....

Rich fuel smoke would be blue to grey, bordering on black sometimes depending on burn efficacy; think of that black puff you see when a poorly tuned turbo shifts. White smoke is usually water or oil being burnt. Oil will also take on a blue tint, but smells different than gas. Guess we can all...

Anyone have a pic of how the hatch release cables run across the back?

From my 89T. Mine is shaved as hell out back, but you should be able to get the idea, and either cable stop should work for either cable. Protip: put the spring in before the cable. Makes it worlds easier.

lots of white smoke coming from the exhaust....

Two possibilities here: valve stem seals and bhg...as noted by other posters. Differentiating question: How much condensation do you get out of the exhaust? If there's more of a water drip than normal, I'd put real money on a blown head gasket; bad valve stem seals wouldn't let enough coolant...

Project "so I have this widebody..."

Small update: Just ordered my alarm and door latch solenoid; alarm is the exact same DEI I have in my DD, so I'll have three remotes...one for each vehicle, and one spare that can operate both. As for the door latches...well, you know those huge wings that run across my doors? They also cover...

Can I get Music off of my Ipod and loaded to a new computer

Indeed. exPod is easily one of the best tools ever for iPod/Mac. Haven't had a need for iRip, but it's also on my utility flash drive :)

    Need some help

Do it. I've driven an 89 in both turbo and non- variants in stock form...it may not look like it on paper, but the 7mgte with an r154 behind it is much faster, and quite a bit quicker than the NA/w58 combo. As far as daily drivability, though, you might want to consider staying NA; the turbo...

Project "so I have this widebody..."

Already ahead of you. Going to be running an LED bar for tail lights. The C5 covers are just retarded, and I can get rid of the mess in the trunk...and probably a gang of wiring, too. By my account, the body work is just time consuming. I've got the crack in the rear bumper, tail lights to...

Project "so I have this widebody..."

I got it up on a lift today, took some pictures, and changed my oil. Next is tranny and rear end fluid, master cylinder, belts, rotors and pads. Maybe suspension bushings for the holidays? One wheelwell...that's embarassing. But informative...I'll clean that up. The rear isn't in very good...

Project "so I have this widebody..."

It's cool. When you've got time, I need to pick your brain about it. In other news...it rained today. So I got sideways in it for the first time; I can honestly say limited slip is the best thing EVAR. I've never been able to manji like that, the control it affords the driver is fantastic...

Project "so I have this widebody..."

Hey, if I show up at the shop next week...think we could measure for wheels? I realised the other night (in a dream, lol) that I hadn't even thought about rubbing clearance in the front, and I don't quite understand how to calculate/measure that, or how to factor in a drop and possibly some...

Project "so I have this widebody..."

Hi Ace! Yeah, I was looking at the mockup of the wheels I might order and thinking about the 305 that's going to be back there, plus what I want to make for power...I'm thinking a full T4 setup would be the way to go now. Which kinda sucks, I was really hoping to leave the engine bay pretty much...

    3uz 87

That looks amazing already...just out of curiosity, was anything left in the supra at all? Wiring harness, rear end? Which begs the next question...think you'll need to change out the rear end on it due to the 6 speed? Or just make the corrections in the ECU so your (hopefully digital) speedo is...

Project "so I have this widebody..."

I'm looking into it...there's more than a few JDM importers here in Cali, so I'm sure something will come along. I hadn't even thought about that until I called up VR Wheels about an hour ago, so now I'm doing more research. At least the downtime I have is productive; I have Corky Bell's Maximum...

Project "so I have this widebody..."

Got a price quote today...$4300 for a set with those exact dimensions from Donz Forged, including serious custom work to the rim face to make it concave for that offset. Not bad for 3-piece custom wheels....time to make more phone calls.
