7mgte lex 550 lean under boost

TSRM FI-73 says that base fuel pressure stock should be 33-40 PSI, and I've always seen it closer to 40. (And I'd bet that exactly where in that range it sits will depend on altitude and local barometer.) So... What's wrong then with setting your base fuel pressure there? What are you running...

    Too much boost!!! Help!!

Wikipedia lists Rialto CA as 3,000 ft above sea level, so yeah, I'd say that your FCO is a little early at 10 PSI. If you were lower than 1000 ft above sea level, then that would be closer. Still, at about 10 deg C (50 F) that's not far out of line at all, probably within tolerances for stock...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Grandavi has a Supra with plates that start that way, too. :p I'm giving serious consideration to picking up a '90 in decent body condition.

    Bhg or just steam.

Remember also that one of the products of combustion is water vapor. While the exhaust is cold, this can and will form visible condensate in the exhaust stream until such time as the engine and exhaust system heats up to the point where the water vapor remains... Well, vapor. How long this takes...

main bearing problem!! never seen this before

No... He's suggesting that maybe the oil pump driveshaft bearings could stand to have less oil in order to have potentially better flow to rod bearings, as well as potentially higher pressure/flow available to the head, turbo and other systems which more typically have oil starvation problems...

No USDM Supra ever came with a 1JZ. You can double check the vehicle data tag in the driver's side door jamb though, it will say what engine designation that the car came with. The firewall tag will also have the chassis designation on it, which will tell the story. MA70 = 7M. JZA70 = 1JZ, GA70...

What can I do in terms of using 7mgte electronics on a 2JZ GE?

And as for range... I'm pretty sure that even a bone stock 7M-GTE is able to pull more air than a BPU 2JZ-GE... Well, maybe with a shimmed wastegate or something. :p

    Aerochargers

Except... I'm pretty sure that my stock CT-26 was hitting 9 PSI before 2700 RPM with a manual boost controller, and was staying there all the way to redline.

New(ish) MKIII owner (possibly over excited) Help wit build

I sure hope that you're planning to put the lower timing cover on before bolting down that head... And OT, but I don't see how any BOV could be vented to atmosphere after the MAF and not result in the over rich condition from venting metered air, whether it's blow through or not. Maybe if the...

main bearing problem!! never seen this before

So long as you don't have this: When I first got my bearing package, this is what was in the box. There were only 5 pairs, and they were badly undersized. Clevite had shipped the wrong box.

main bearing problem!! never seen this before

The bearings on my block lined up perfectly. The bearings were Clevite 77 bearings, ordered from Driftmotion, and the block is probably a 1989. (New block casting, 6M crank)

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

LOL. Yeah, that'd go over like a lead balloon with my wife. I already caught hell for my "stuff taking over the room" today because my Kendo gear was on the floor. I can only imagine what she'd say about an engine stand in here... There's also the question of how I'd get it out of the house and...

    Customized my instrument cluster

I'll have to reserve judgement on the 2" PVC pods, but it seems to me that if you're going to go that far, why keep the stock face at all? I am interested in how the Strada deals with speedo/odometer functions though. I've been thinking about what it would take to convert to an all aftermarket...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Yeah, well, -20 to -30 are temperatures that are just going to happen around here for the next 3-4 months, so according to that XKCD conversion factor, we're going to be swearing a lot. (Though the only time that I can actually remember swearing that much was when I woke up and they said...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Put the pins in the block, put on Titan 1.4mm MHG. Install ARP head studs. Put cylinder head on block. (Almost forgot to put washers in the head before dropping it onto the studs. Yikes.) Pro tip: assembly lubricant stored in an unheated garage at -20 degrees does not come out of...

    Rear quarters

Cutting and welding should not weaken the structure at all, even on a unibody car. If anything, replacing the rust with solid metal should make the unibody structure stronger again. Still, as mentioned, the quarters are not structural members of the unibody. Cutting and replacing with...

What clutch to get for my 7M

Okay, I laughed. Is this the place where I mention that on the same setup (ACT Stage 3+) I showed my 14 year old daughter (Who, by the way, might weigh in at 80 lbs) what a real clutch should feel like when it engages? FWIW, she had it figured out in a couple of minutes and was able to get the...

    88 Supra 7mgte, Swap to 90.

Please please please note that the '89 ECU harness will not work with the '90 chassis harness. It may have grey plugs, but it's the same pin configuration as the '87-'88. I put an '87 engine, harness and ECU into my '89 chassis, and it fit fine with only the headlight ECU pin causing a problem...
