yes its easier but you dont know how much to put in... the plug is on the passenger side of the transmission on the side closer to the back end of the tranny... you know when to stop adding because the gear oil will start coming out of the hole... i'd recommend drain and fill while you're under...

i used lucas gear oil and lucas oil stabilizer in my differential... works great as far as i can tell... its very quiet and works flawlessly.. i trust lucas.. they arent the cheapest products but they are in the business of lubricants so you know they are serious about their products.
i love lucas... i use it in every change too.. better for cold starts too... the oil sticks to everything better so you dont do dry starts.. also helped the stinky smokey cold starts i recommend it..
