It's a valve that opens once it reaches a certain temperature and allows vacuum, from the throttle body, to pull the fumes from the charcoal canister. A vent tube from your gas tank feeds the charcoal canister.

Add a couple of resonators. Measure the length of the test pipe and fine a resonator that length. Or, if you don't mind shortening your exhaust, get the longest resonator you can fit up there (like a 24") and re weld the flanges back on to make it fit.

Yep. Compression test and coolant test to see if exhaust is getting in your coolant. You DO NOT want coolant getting in your oil so don't drive it until you have done these.
