Fair enough Nick. Like I said in the last part of post 84, I do not have all the answers so I am backing out.. I will read some of your suggested reading however. :)
Yikes... He sounds angry...That's going to suck bigtime...:naughty:
Thanks for the info.
I hear no name?

I would add that if you still can't adjust the timing with a light, Check for a code 51 as base timing can not be set when present.
Sounds like you got her licked though.. Good job..
I popped off the C clip, that held the pin, that keeps the fork in place.
If I was doing it again, I would try Racefiends way because you don't have to pull the tranny so far back to clear the throw out bearing.
Have someone shut your car off while you listen for the ISC to click after the engine stops.
It could be the mechanical valve in the ISC also that is not working and not the electronics. :dunno:

It still idles at 2700 rpm with the TPS unplugged? Then I would guess the problem lies elsewhere.
For the idle problem, I would look at all your linkages and cables to make sure your throttle plate is fully closed and nothing is sticking or binding holding it open..
Once your sure it...
Dys: It was before before my time as a driver. Not sure on the details as it was something that I read in a towing magazine about flatbed tow trucks. Same thing applies in long distances.
Yikes IJ, Thats nuts...I had a steering wheel lock give out and it sent the nose of the car I was towing...
There was a time when they shipped cars and trucks by train across country and they strapped the cars down very tight to the decking. This extra weight and the constant rocking in place without spinning the wheels, ate flat spots into the axil bearings over long distances.
Just a bit of...
Code 41 is a bad TPS or the TPS connections on the potentiometer side of the TPS are bad or the wire too and from the TPS and ECU are not making a connection.(VTA and VC)
In your case I would look at the wires (VTA and VC) like Nick said., then the TPS itself.
Let me know.. Timing can only be set with code 51 gone and the jumper installed in the diag block and moving your distributor until the timing is on 10 degrees.
I doubt it will cause your idle to rev that high, but once you make the codes go away, reset your timing and go from there
Anything happen when you unplug your TPS?
BTW code 41 is stored in memory (51 is not) so you might want to reset your ecu once 51 is fixed and see if 41 pops up again...
