Most had a 1JZ, not all. It's perfectly possible that the engine is from a Soarer, but I wouldn't want to put money on it. ;)

Question to those who Converted to 5-Speed or Have/Had both an Automatic and a Manual - Is all the "hype" associated with a 5 speed transmission justified? I'm not sure if any of the other Auto owners get it, but I've always felt like I'm missing out on something by having an automatic.

The A340e isn't a bad little transmission. Before I even got my car, I knew that I was going to be lumbered with a car with a auto box and as such planned to stick a 5 speed in more or less as soon as I got it home, but I soon realized that Autos by no means deserve the bad rap they sometimes...

"Building it for boost" is little more than slapping on another HG, which you planned to do on a GTE anyway. The effort going for going GE will be recouped when you factor in hunting down all of those little parts that you won't get with the GTE long block. Anyway, give this a read...
