if you can, do coilovers first, but since you are on a budget, go with sway bars right off the bat. they make the handling that much better. then slap some shocks and springs on, maybe with some upper pillow ball mounts. my car: tokico struts, tokico springs, ST sway bars, HKS upper pillow ball...

on the auto cable, remove the very last piece that goes into the tranny and is all metal and curved. now you have the 2 piece 5speed cable. easy enough.

^^^^^^ exactly what he said, stock is close to 1.2mm i had 20 thousandths total removed from head and block and went with a 2mm greddy gasket. and greddy does make an 83mm bore to keep it closer to stock unlike the 86mm bore that everyone advertises here are some conversion charts...
